Inktober 2018 – Sketch Selection 4 – 6

Here are three more scans from my 2018 Inktober series. I kept the preliminary pencil work to a minimum attempting to use it specifically for defining overall sections or linear elements rather than detailing. That worked fine for organic material like plants but when it came to anatomy…not so much. That wasn’t a big deal in this context. As an exercise in exploring techniques it’s more interesting figuring out what can be done with the tools at hand rather than meeting a specific aesthetic.

      1. No cold Sunday shoveling for me! Even the dogs are in a rush to come inside today. Thanks for your feedback about the sketches. These are mostly about the process. I can only strengthen the foundation of my skill set through the practice of my discipline. I see you doing that in your posts as well. Your work deals with the complexities of memories and emotion utilizing an unvarnished narrative style that is disarmingly accessible. It’s interesting to watch the process of you defining your literary voice … discovering what you want to say and how you want to say it.
